Specialty Training and Interviews

We had a new adventure driving to Mildura for Specialty Training.  We tried a different
route and got to a place where we had to be ferried across the river.  Here we are
waiting for the ferry to pick us up. This was very cool.  The ferry is open 24 hours a day
and is operated by a man who goes back and forth all day taking cars across.

This is the mighty Mildura Zone.  They are consecrated, aligned and diligent.  President

of all the miracles happening in Mildura.

Elder Paeu and Elder Fleming!  Valiant Elders!!

Specialty Training

On the drive to Mildura we saw this beautiful rainbow-the first we've seen in
Australia.

These are emus. We always see them at a distance as we drive to Mildura but
today they were closer.  We pulled over to the side of the road and they all started
running towards us.  It reminded me of what turkeys do.  I think they figured we
were there to feed them. These are awesome looking animals and I've never
seen an emu in the US?
After a wonderful Sabbath Day we began Specialty Training with the Mildura
Zone.

New companions- Sister Tamana and Sister Townsend.  These incredible
sister missionaries are great leaders. President Parker and I were able to out
to minister with them and it was wonderful.  Thank you sisters for your great
efforts in bringing many unto Christ. It was a joy to be with you.
Healthy lunchtime!!Elder Barnes and Elder Hamilton smiling about the veggies:)
Thank you to Elder and Sister Jurgens for a delicious healthy lunch.  We are

Specialty Training

On Tuesday November 24, we made the beautiful drive to Mildura to have
Specialty Training. This is the great Mildura Zone except for Elder Esqueda!
We used the timer on the camera and it cut him off.  I am so sad but we will put
him front and center next zone picture.  Can you believe we did that:(  Love
all of these missionaries so much though.
One of our incredible Sister Training Leaders, Sister Tamana from Melbourne.
Sister Tamana told us she loves Mildura and never wants to leave! You are one
dedicated, obedient, hard working sister missionary and we love you so much.
Its always so wonderful to visit with a senior couple and hear all the great
things going on in their assigned area. We are so grateful for the Jurgens.
They have set a very high bar for all of our senior couples and we are in
awe of all they are doing. We love you Elder and Sister Jurgens.
Elder Pitcher and Elder Esqueda ordering dinner at the Crazy Mexican Restaurant.
Elder Esqueda, put your wallet away, this one is on President Parker:)
We were serenaded all through dinner by the beautiful voices of our talented
missionaries. We can't get over the incredibly gifted missionaries we are
blessed with.  Thank you Elders for singing those beautiful hymns during dinner.

More musical missionaries!  The musical group called ,"Gentry" has nothing
over on these guys! They are GOOD!!!
Elder Hamilton and Sister Asera both had birthdays in November so here they
are with their companions who earned their birthday treat for them.  Happy
Birthday to both of you.  We love you so much!

Interviews

Looks like stripling warriors to me!  President Parker is always smiling when he
gets to interview and counsel with these great missionaries.  We are in awe of
each one of them.  Elder Anton, Elder Barnes, Elder Beard, Elder Hamilton, Elder
Fuhriman, and Elder Paeu.

President Parker and Elder Hamilton talk about their fathers and uncles who
are in the dentistry field.  It's so fun to get to know about each of these
wonderful missionaries and their great families who have taught them.

Interviews

On Monday, Oct. 26th, we traveled up to Mildura so President could do interviews.
It is such a beautiful drive and I saw kangaroos again.  Woohoo!  They are so
awesome!  We arrived late Monday night, attended district meeting and then
began interviews.  By the end of the day everyone was hungry so we ate dinner
at Fasta Pasta.  Here is the whole Mildura Zone of incredible missionaries!

Great place, great food, and especially great missionaries.  We love hearing about
all those they are teaching and of their great service here in Mildura.  We love
each one of these missionaries so much.

This is Elder and Sister Jurgens who are two of the hardest working people you'll
ever meet.  They lovingly watch over our missionaries here in the Mildura Zone
and bless the members here in so many ways.  I'm pretty sure they do the
work of about 3 senior couples.  We are so grateful for you Elder and Sister
 Jurgens.

Nothing more fun then being with these great missionaries!!

Elder Kata, Elder Boyd, Elder Fuhriman, and Elder Barnes.  Eating a good meal
so they can go serve with all they have!

Sister Tamana and her companion, Sister Asera.  Two angel sister missionaries
working hard.  Elder Soli and his companion, Elder Kelese, one of the zone
leaders here.  We love you all!

Elder Beard, Elder Paeu, Elder Hamilton, Elder Anton, and Elder Punou worked
up an appetite at training all day.  Love these elders!

President Parker, Elder Matekohi, Elder Kata, and Elder Boyd, the other

Specialty Training in Mildura

After our wonderful drive to Mildura, we attended Church in the Mildura Ward.
President and I had the privilege of speaking and meeting the wonderful leaders
of the ward.  Then we got back in the van and drove to Robinvale.  It's about
another hour and a little bit.  These 2 great Elders were there to help us find
the church since we were a little lost.  Thank you Elder Punou and Elder Hefa
for rescuing us.  Here they are in front of their very clean flat!

We made fast friends in Robinvale.  This is Brother and Sister Soni.  Brother Soni
serves as the 1st counselor in the Robinvale Branch and his sweet wife is the
Relief Society President.  This is a busy couple.  We were very happy to hear
they had stayed after church so Brother Jurgens could help them with their
family history!  This branch is engaged in family history.  It's wonderful.

Monday morning, we were ready to start training.  The assistants once again did a
fabulous job.  We were grateful they made it safe and sound as they had a run in
with a kangaroo and their car! These great missionaries are ready to let the spirit
teach them about obedience and service.  We love you Elder Chalke, Elder Boyd,
Elder Kelese, Sister Siale, and Sister Tamana.

More great missionaries.  Elder Martineau, Elder Punou, Elder Hefa, Elder Chalke
and our assistants, Elder Pitcher and Elder Pitama.  We love you.

It was so great being with these missionaries and getting to know them better.
We sure love you Elder Litster, Elder Kata, and Elder Martineau.

Great obedient missionaries ready to learn together and go out and work hard.  We
love you Elder Wilkinson, Elder Paeu, Elder Tolbert, and Elder Barnett.

Elder Boyd and Elder Kelese.  The zone leaders of the great Mildura Zone.  These
are great, powerful missionaries.  We love you.

Thank you Elder and Sister Jurgens for providing a wonderful lunch for all of us.
We love you too.
