On Monday, Aug. 31st we flew to Sydney, Australia for the Pacific Area Mission
President Seminar. It was wonderful from start to finish. After being picked up by
a sweet senior couple serving in Sydney, we checked in to the beautiful Intercontinental
Hotel. This being our first Area Seminar, we were excited to have this wonderful
experience and to be taught by our Area Presidency.
This is Sydney! It is absolutely beautiful.
This is the beautiful Opera House that we were able to tour. There is incredible
history surrounding this building. It was fascinating to see.
Listening to the tour guide with the beautiful Hudson Bridge behind us.
One of the best things about this trip was seeing sweet friends we had met at the
Mission Presidents Seminar at the MTC and meeting the other Mission Presidents
and their wives in the Pacific Area. I had a huge surprise when I ran into Sister
Carrie Hendersen who serves with her husband who presides over the Brisbane
Mission. Sister Hendersen and I used to swim together on the BYU Dolphins
swim team years ago. We haven't seen each other since we were about 14 years
old. We learned much from these new dear friends and had so much fun
going down memory lane together.
Another highlight of the week was attending the beautiful Sydney Temple with all
17 Mission Presidents and their wives and our Pacific Area Presidency. This
was a day never to be forgotten. We feel so blessed to have had the opportunity
to be taught and counseled by our leaders. We are so grateful to be members of
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. His creations are beautiful. We
still can't believe we had the blessing of seeing yet another corner of this world.
The evidence of God's love is everywhere.
